The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) is the national regulator of Commonwealth subsidised aged care services. ACQSC‘s primary responsibility is to protect and enhance the safety, health, wellbeing and quality of life of people receiving aged care by holding providers to account for their performance including compliance with legal obligations. Through activities spanning engagement, education and guidance, complaints handling, monitoring and investigation, and management of non-compliance, the ACQSC is focused on delivering world class regulation that empowers people who use aged care, promotes best practice care and services, and builds confidence and trust in Australia’s aged care system.

The Role:
Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner Corporate, the Chief Digital Officer will drive the Commission’s digital transformation and strategic digital integration and renewal. The position plays a key leadership and stakeholder management role and will represent the Commission at a range of external fora including Government, industry and interagency events.
The role will partner with key stakeholders to deliver innovative and effective system and service changes, build resource capacity and capability, and deliver effective operational outcomes in line with the Commission’s Digital Strategy and regulatory posture. To achieve this, the Chief Digital Officer will shape and guide the Commission’s design, adoption and use of digital tools, platforms, technologies and systems to optimise its business operations and services.
Operating in a complex, diverse and dynamic environment, the Chief Digital Officer leads and builds capability within the Commission’s ICT and Digital teams. The role will develop the ICT and Digital sections to become fully integrated and effective business support functions, that implement strategies and operational processes and operate in a collaborative way, meeting the changing needs of the Commission. The Chief Digital Officer promotes systematised, flexible and customer focused support models and leads the delivery of systems and approaches to working that collectively, reduce ICT and cyber security risks, improve service and system integration, modernise business practices, and strengthen communication, customer service and service responsiveness within the organisation.
