American Roofing & Waterproofing, LLC is actively seeking a highly experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Controller to join our executive leadership team.
We are looking for a proven leader with a minimum of 15 years of experience in the roofing industry, specializing in commercial and multifamily roofing operations.
This individual will serve as second in command to the CEO, overseeing daily company operations, production, personnel, project performance, and overall operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate must have extensive experience managing a multimillion-dollar roofing company, leading multiple departments, controlling operational costs, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily company operations and serve as second in command to the CEO.
- Direct and manage commercial and multifamily roofing production.
- Supervise operations managers, project managers, superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Oversee multiple large-scale roofing projects simultaneously.
- Manage production schedules, manpower, labor costs, material usage, and operational budgets.
- Establish accountability and performance standards across all departments.
- Monitor project profitability and implement cost-control measures.
- Coordinate with sales, estimating, accounting, and production departments.
- Ensure quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and timely project completion.
- Develop operational strategies to increase efficiency, productivity, and company profitability.
- Oversee hiring, training, employee performance, and workforce development.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Work directly with the CEO on strategic planning, business development, and company expansion.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 15 years of roofing industry experience, with extensive commercial and multifamily roofing expertise.
- Proven experience in executive leadership, operations management, or a comparable senior management position.
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, tile, shingle, TPO, foam, coatings, and waterproofing.
- Experience managing multimillion-dollar roofing projects and large production teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple departments and manage subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, job costing, operational budgets, and profitability.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make executive-level decisions and operate independently.
- Proven track record of improving operational efficiency, accountability, and company performance.
