We’re looking for a steady, strategic, and commercially minded CFO to partner with the President and Executive Team on the decisions and execution that shape our future.
About the role
Reporting directly to the President, you’ll lead JPC’s Finance, Credit and Risk function and serve as a trusted partner to the Executive Team. Two leaders report to you, a Finance Manager and a Credit Manager, along with their teams.
This is not a back-office finance role. As a lender and fleet manager, how we fund, price and manage risk is how we compete, and you’ll own it. That covers capital and liquidity, funding and banking relationships, pricing and return on capital, portfolio risk and credit discipline, financial reporting and planning, and accounting, controls and compliance.
You’ll shape how JPC funds its growth, manages risk, allocates capital, and you’ll build the people and systems we need to scale. It’s hands-on leadership: you set the direction, and you’ll roll up your sleeves when the work calls for it.
What you’ll do:
- Team Leadership. Build, mentor and develop high-performing Finance and Credit teams with a culture of sound judgment, ownership, accountability and practical problem solving.
- Capital, Funding and Liquidity. Ensure JPC has the capital, liquidity and funding structure to support growth. You’ll manage banking relationships, funding facilities, interest rate exposure, covenant compliance and lender reporting, and build capacity ahead of where the business is going.
- Residuals and Portfolio Risk. You’ll own concentration limits, provisioning and credit performance across the portfolio. Collaborating with our VP, Asset Management, you’ll set and monitor residual assumptions.
- Credit and Adjudication. Keep credit discipline strong while finding practical ways to say yes to good business. You’ll be the second set of eyes for the Credit Manager on the decisions that need it.
- Financial Reporting and Planning. Deliver accurate, timely reporting to the President, Board and lenders. You’ll lead budgeting, forecasting and planning, and provide the Executive Team the insights to make better decisions faster.
- Accounting, Compliance and Controls. Own accounting, lease accounting, tax, audit, treasury and financial controls, plus our regulatory program, including FINTRAC and AML.
- Client engagement. Work directly with clients on the decisions that matter most, from structuring deals to managing delinquencies and payment workouts, balancing a strong relationship with protecting the portfolio.
- Commercial Judgment. Bring financial rigor to decisions on new products, services and partner programs. You’ll lead negotiation of key commercial agreements and embed financial and risk thinking across JPC.
- Systems & Technology: Own the finance and credit systems that support our growth, driving automation and building a scalable foundation for reporting, adjudication and accounting.
What we’re looking for:
You have 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership. Experience in fleet management, automotive and/or equipment finance or specialty lending is a strong asset. Bank or boutique, we care about the depth of your experience, not the logo. A CPA is preferred but not required for candidates with deep experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in a lending business.

- Have excellent financial, accounting and commercial credit judgment.
- Are an expert in assessing financial performance, cash flow, leverage and creditworthiness.
- Turn financial information into clear recommendations and decisions.
- Can protect the balance sheet without losing sight of the customer and commercial opportunities.
- Take ownership, challenge assumptions and make decisions.
