Role Overview
The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) is responsible for defining and driving the organisation’s strategic direction to support long-term growth, competitive positioning, and operational success. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the executive leadership team and Board, the CSO will lead strategic planning, market analysis, corporate development, transformation initiatives, and enterprise-wide strategic execution.

Key Responsibilities
Corporate Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement the organisation’s long-term strategic vision and business plans.
- Lead enterprise-wide strategic planning processes aligned with organisational objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities, market trends, competitive threats, and emerging business models.
- Advise the CEO and Board on strategic priorities, risks, and investment decisions.

- Evaluate strategic partnerships, alliances, mergers, acquisitions, and investment opportunities.
- Support corporate development and growth initiatives across the organisation.
- Assess business performance and recommend strategies to improve competitiveness and profitability.
Transformation & Change Management
- Lead strategic transformation programmes and organisational change initiatives.
- Ensure alignment between strategy, operations, and execution across business functions.
- Drive innovation, operational improvement, and organisational effectiveness initiatives.
- Monitor implementation progress and adjust strategies as required.
Market & Competitive Analysis
- Conduct market research, industry analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
- Analyse customer, market, economic, and regulatory trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop scenario planning, forecasting, and strategic modelling capabilities.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
Strategic Execution & Performance Management
- Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to track strategic initiative performance.
- Monitor organisational progress against strategic objectives.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to support successful execution of strategic priorities.
- Ensure accountability and governance across key strategic programmes.
Financial & Commercial Support
- Partner with finance and executive leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, and investment prioritisation.

Leadership & Team Development

Candidate Profile
Experience
- Proven experience as a Chief Strategy Officer, Strategy Director, Corporate Development Director, Management Consultant, or senior strategic leadership executive.
- Strong track record developing and executing successful corporate strategies.
- Experience leading growth, transformation, or business optimisation initiatives.
- Demonstrated success supporting executive leadership and Board-level decision-making.
