About the role:
The NSW Crime Commission’s purpose is to disrupt, reduce and prevent the incidence of organised and other serious crime in New South Wales. The Commission is structured into several divisions, support teams and specialist units.
We are seeking a highly capable and strategic Chief of Staff to join the Commission in this newly created role, reporting directly to the Commissioner. As Chief of Staff, you will lead the Office of the Commissioner and support the Commissioner and broader Executive in the delivery of Commission’s strategic outcomes, operational objectives and Executive support services. The role is a key strategic advisor to the Commissioner, and responsible for high level strategic stakeholder and media management.
The role is focused upon leading the development, coordination, delivery and implementation of a portfolio of strategic priorities, initiatives, research and analysis that support organisational objectives and Government commitments. The role also leads in parliamentary and ministerial liaison for the Commission, and media and communications.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader with exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and strategic thinking skills to work at the centre of decision-making and organisational leadership.

Target Questions
Question 1: Describe a time when you led the development and implementation of a significant organisational strategy, reform agenda, or organisational priority. What was the strategic challenge, how did you influence executive decision-making, establish performance measures, and manage implementation, and what outcomes were achieved?
Question 2: This role is responsible for leading engagement with Ministers’ Offices, government departments, parliamentary processes, and media on complex and sensitive matters. Please provide an example of a high-profile issue you managed. Describe the strategic advice you provided to senior executives, how you managed stakeholder relationships, including media if relevant, and risks, and the outcome achieved.
