Job Summary
Under administrative direction, oversees Tulsa County’s technology strategy and ensures all technology initiatives align with goals set by the Board of County Commissioners. The CIO manages technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, service management, and customer coordination, and directs the effective use of technology resources while leading and developing the IT team by performing the following duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises three managers who supervise up to 30 employees in Information Technology and one administrative staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field of study required; Master’s Degree preferred; and ten years satisfactory full-time paid employment in a progressively responsible managerial position; and a minimum of four years in a senior level (IT Director, VP, or CIO) position, directing staff and services of a major, multi-faceted information technology department; or any combination of experience and education, substituting one additional year of satisfactory full-time paid employment for one year of the required education, with a maximum substitution of four years.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts related to the technology field as well as statistical analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to facilitate and solve problems creatively, synthesize many inputs and provide sound judgement. Ability to work at both strategic and tactical level. Ability to apply working knowledge of process reengineering methods.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred or ability to obtain with 6months of hired.
Criminal Justice Information Services Security and Privacy Training (CJIS).
