SystImmune is a well-funded, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative cancer therapies, including bispecific and multispecific antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). The Company has a growing oncology portfolio spanning clinical-stage programs in solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, as well as a robust pipeline of preclinical and IND-enabling programs.
We are seeking a Chief Commercial Officer to build and lead SystImmune’s global (US/EU/Japan, etc.) commercial strategy and organization as the Company advances its oncology portfolio toward commercialization. The CCO will lead the commercial strategy, portfolio and market assessment, launch planning and readiness, market access, and the development of commercial capabilities and infrastructure required to support SystImmune’s transition from a clinical-stage to a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and hands-on commercial leader with deep oncology experience, a successful track record of US/global product launches, and demonstrated experience building in house commercial capabilities in a growing biotechnology organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the global commercial strategy and launch plan for the Company’s lead oncology program, including positioning, go-to-market strategy, launch readiness, performance metrics, and post-launch optimization.
- Define and build the appropriate global in-house commercial model for a specialized oncology market, including marketing, sales/key account management, market access, patient services, insights and analytics, and commercial operations.
- Develop comprehensive pricing, market access, reimbursement, distribution, and patient access strategies across commercial and government payers, providers, health systems, and other key stakeholders.
- Build and lead a lean, high-performing commercial organization and establish the infrastructure, capabilities, systems, and processes required to support launch and future portfolio growth.
- Provide commercial leadership across the product lifecycle, including market assessment, target product profile development, indication prioritization, competitive positioning, forecasting, launch strategy, and lifecycle management.
- Partner closely with cross function teams to incorporate commercial insights into development, regulatory, evidence-generation, and market access strategies.
- Establish market research, competitive intelligence, forecasting, and commercial analytics capabilities to inform product strategy, launch planning, portfolio prioritization, and investment decisions.
- Lead commercial assessments of pipeline programs, new indications, and business development opportunities, including market opportunity, competitive landscape, differentiation, revenue potential, and commercialization strategy.
- Develop long-range commercial forecasts, revenue projections, and scenario analyses to support corporate planning, resource allocation, portfolio decisions, and long-term growth strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree such as an MBA, PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive commercial experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including significant senior leadership experience in oncology and/or specialty therapeutics.
- Demonstrated success leading at least one US/global oncology product launch, with direct accountability for commercial strategy, launch readiness, execution, and performance.
- Strong oncology experience, preferably in solid tumors and/or hematologic malignancies. Experience with ADCs or other specialty oncology products is highly desirable.
- Proven experience building or scaling a global commercial organization and commercial infrastructure, ideally within a clinical-stage or pre-commercial biotechnology company progressing from development through launch.
- Broad commercial leadership experience across key functions such as marketing, market access, sales, patient services, commercial operations, forecasting, and insights and analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to assess pipeline assets, market opportunities, competitive landscapes, and commercialization strategies and translate commercial insights into portfolio and development decisions.
- Strong track record of building high-performing teams, developing talent, and influencing cross-functional and executive-level decision-making.
- Strong strategic, analytical, financial, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex market dynamics into clear business recommendations and decisions.
- Executive presence and the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, Board members, investors, external partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, resource-conscious, hands-on biotechnology environment and to move comfortably between strategic leadership and execution.
- Global commercial experience and experience developing commercialization strategies across major markets are preferred.
The pay range for this position is $350,000 – $500,000 per year based on skills, education, and experience relevant to the role.
