The Chief Academic Officer, under minimal supervision, performs district level work with extensive decision-making discretion overseeing the day-to-day educational programs of the school system. This includes providing leadership and oversight in the areas of Career and Technical Education, Federal Programs, Student Services, Curriculum and Instruction, Professional Learning, Exceptional Children’s Services, Research, Accountability and Technology. The CAO will perform highly advanced and supervisory work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures related to a wide variety of programs and activities under the direction of the Superintendent.
