ROLE SUMMARY
To advance the organization’s mission and vision globally, PAI is hiring a highly-experienced, strategic and dynamic Managing Director, International based in Europe. This is an executive leadership position that will develop and oversee PAI’s strategic directions, engagements and operations outside of the US, working in collaboration with Executive Team members who are responsible for PAI’s overall partnerships and fundraising, programs and research, public policy and operations. Over time, the Managing Director will recruit and manage a diverse global team, and deliver measurable international results that align with PAI’s theory of change.
Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Managing Director will ensure that PAI widens the diversity of voices charting the future of AI by building bridges across regions and jurisdictions to advance the responsible and safe governance of AI and respectfully engaging with regional perspectives to advance the development of AI that meets local needs through equity, justice and shared prosperity. The Managing Director will engage collaboratively and consultatively externally with our global community of Partners, Policy-Makers and PAI’s Board of Directors and, internally, with Executive Team peers and other colleagues across the PAI staff team.

PAI is headquartered in San Francisco yet has a remote workforce with a global membership base and scope. This role is eligible for remote work within the UK or European Union. We do not offer visa support for this position at this time.
