Position Responsibility:
The Interim President/CEO of Gateway Technical College, reporting to the Board of Trustees, will provide steady operational leadership during a period of transition. This individual will ensure the college remains firmly aligned with its mission to deliver flexible, accessible, and affordable industry-focused education to our broad community. Serving as a key source of continuity and stability, the Interim President will support the executive leadership council, champion student success, and guide the institution through critical decision-making. They will also play a pivotal role in driving ongoing initiatives forward and seeing them through to successful completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Governance: Works in close partnership with the Executive Leadership Council to advance the college’s mission and support college operations. Effectively serves as a liaison among the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, students, and the broader community. Inspires and motivates others to perform well; effectively influences actions and opinions of others; accepts and provides feedback from others; gives appropriate recognition to others; able to build morale and group commitment to goals and objectives.
Community and Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with the community and key stakeholders by promoting events and initiatives that foster engagement, strengthen external partnerships, and support enrollment growth—while actively aligning efforts to meet the evolving needs of workforce development and business partners.
Fiscal & Financial Management: Oversee the college’s administrative functions, including fiscal planning, budget development, and financial oversight, to ensure long-term financial stability, efficient resource allocation, and compliance with policies and regulations.
Organizational Leadership: Provide organizational leadership by guiding key decision-making processes and ensuring the continuation of critical initiatives, including the compensation study and organizational structure review, while advancing the college’s strategic priorities.
Supporting Student Success: Champion a culture of shared responsibility for student retention, graduation, and overall success by fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment and empowering faculty, staff, and stakeholders to contribute to these goals.
