Your new role: As the Chief Proposition and Product Officer (CPPO), you will be a key member of our Executive Leadership Team. You will drive the vision, strategy, and execution of our product and proposition portfolio, ensuring the creation and enhancement of valuable offerings that meet the needs of our patients, customers, and partners.

Reporting to the CEO, the CPPO will spearhead proposition development and product management, aiming to achieve our revenue goals and fulfil our strategic objectives. This role demands an inspirational leader capable of fostering high performance across teams. Your leadership will be essential to our growth, overseeing the development of innovative products and services.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and a commercially minded, entrepreneurial innovator, possessing excellent communication and influencing skills. With a collaborative spirit, intellectual curiosity, and a forward-thinking vision, the CPPO will drive strategic initiatives with determination and creativity. Known for their ingenuity, energy, and sound judgment, the CPPO will excel at uniting teams to create exceptional, customer-centric propositions. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will work collaboratively with ELT members to deliver DCA’s goals, and be an exemplar of DCA’s values to colleagues and stakeholders.

Strategic Leadership and Vision

• Define and drive the overall product and proposition strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and goals.
• Develop and communicate a compelling value proposition that differentiates our offerings in the market.
• Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team and Board to set strategic proposition and product priorities and ensure integrated efforts across all functions.

Proposition and Product Development and Management

• Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring timely and successful delivery of new product, enhancements and the overall product roadmap that drives revenue and growth.
• Lead the development of innovative digital health solutions that meet the evolving needs of our patients, customers, and partners.
• Define, deliver and continuously improve the customer and user experience to agreed measures of success.
• Implement best practices in product management, including agile methodologies, to ensure efficient and effective product development processes.
• Define the Group and Product value propositions including segmentation, target audience product/market fit, and the value to the customer.

Market and Customer Insights

• Work closely with the Chief Customer Officer to conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
• Gather and analyse customer feedback to inform proposition and product development and improve user experience.
• Utilise data-driven insights to guide decision-making and optimise product performance.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

• Build, inspire, and lead a high-performing product, proposition and user experience/product design team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical, technology, marketing, sales, and operations, to ensure cohesive execution of product initiatives.
• Work closely with the Chief Customer Officer to define product and distribution economics into proposition and product business cases, enabling the CCO to both win and successfully manage distribution partners.
• Work with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure regulatory and medical compliance, plus ensuring that all products and propositions drive the right clinical outcomes for the customer.
• Work with the Chief Digital and Information Officer to ensure that the business requirements of propositions, products and partners are reflected in the technology strategy and roadmap.
• Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their professional goals.

Financial, Commercial and Operational Management

• Drive revenue and growth and lead the understanding and management of the product P&Ls, including ongoing product management and P&L impacts.
• Establish and manage budgets for product development and proposition initiatives, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and validation of investments and ROI
• Work with the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Customer Officer to develop the pricing strategy that delivers against the company’s financial targets.
• Define, track and report on OKRs and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of product and proposition strategies.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to proposition and product development and market positioning.

External Engagement and Partnerships

• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to promote our products and propositions.
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, technology partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Drive collaboration with external partners to enhance product offerings and expand market research.

Key attributes/ “person spec”

• Proven experience in a senior product / proposition management role, preferably as a product / proposition lead in a healthcare organisation or equivalent.
• An individual who has a track record of successfully growing businesses organically
• Expertise of managing commercial partners and agreements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• Highly inquisitive, with the desire to understand the market, customers and competitors
• Commercial skills to identify target market, market size, business opportunity and to build effective pricing strategies
• Ability to design and run effective research, interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.
• Strong background in developing and implementing proposition and product strategies in the health sector.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team, and to influence stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision making.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Deep understanding of market trends and customer needs.
