We’re seeking a creative and dynamic Chief Programme Officer to lead a far-reaching and truly transformational Regional Parks Programme in West London. This ambitious programme is set to create a vast and unified green space, offering a sanctuary for residents and visitors alike. This new ‘green lung’ will not only provide a beautiful escape for citizens but will also contribute to our climate resilience, enhance our air quality, and strengthen flood defences. Moreover, it promises to improve the health and well-being of our communities and contribute to the region’s economy by drawing in significant capital investment to develop various facilities, including sports pitches, play areas, and a state-of-the-art outdoor cultural venue.
About the Role
As the Chief Programme Officer, you will spearhead the programme taking it from the masterplan stage through to the implementation. Bringing together partners including community and resident groups, private and public sector organisations like the GLA, Natural England and The Environment Agency. You will lead and manage the commissioning and implementation, develop and maximise opportunities for inward investment, act as the Council’s ambassador, and work with, Senior Leadership and elected members, while overseeing capital and revenue budget management and progress the financial business case.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with experience working on similar significant programmes at either a regional or national level. Success will require you to utilise your leadership experience to manage a matrix team, along with first-class negotiating and commercial acumen. Additionally, strategic and creative thinking, as well as a proactive approach to problem-solving, are essential.
