Description
The primary functions of this position include serve as chief information/technology officer and provide guidance and leadership for the information technology efforts of the college.
This position has been identified as being critical to the operations of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located at the Gulf Coast State College, North Bay Campus, Public Safety/ EOC building. In the event of an emergency, this position will be required to be available either onsite and/or work remotely, to support the needs of Gulf Coast State College as well as assist Bay County Emergency Operations Staff during activities for emergencies and disasters. This position will be required to provide support to all equipment and systems used to support the Emergency Operations Center, including, but not limited to, computer systems, network equipment, audio/visual equipment and telecommunications/telephone Equipment.
If a College employee is not available to provide direct onsite support for either Gulf Coast State College or the Emergency Operations Center, then coverage must be identified and approved by the Chief Information Officer.
The Gulf Coast State College, Chief Information Officer, or designee, will function as the Information Security Officer (ISO) or Qualified Individual (per Gramm-Leach-Bliley-Act), and collaborate with the Technology Steering Committee to maintain and update the College’s Information Security infrastructure and associated policies and procedures.
Examples of Duties
Provide administrative and technical direction for the information technology efforts of the college, including systems development, systems support, technical support, telecommunications, computer operations, media services, web development and network security.
Provide administrative and technical direction to the Media Services and Network Services staff to design and deliver the appropriate classroom media technology to support the instructional needs of the college.
Coordinate with college committees to establish network hardware and software standards and procedures to provide a viable, comprehensive technology structure that supports the college mission.
Provide leadership and direction in the acquisition and implementation of emerging technologies that support and/or expand instructional programs.
Provide leadership and guidance in the preparation and implementation of the appropriate strategic and operational technology planning efforts of the college.
Provide technical leadership related to telecommunications systems hardware, software and technical support.
Provide technical leadership related to the college’s web presence.
Provide technical and administrative leadership in the design of network infrastructure to be included in all campus buildings, including any new and/or remodeled construction.
Provide technical leadership related to acquiring and supporting the appropriate administrative software systems and support.
Provide technical and administrative leadership in designing policies and procedures to ensure the security and privacy of information systems data.
Consult/coordinate with other division and department heads to provide modern, state-of-the-art, cost-effective technologies to support the mission of the college.
Prepare and recommend budget for technology initiatives of the college

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing leadership to the Information Technology Services department. Responsible for supervision of direct reports in the area of Technology Support Services, Network Services, Enterprise Resource Systems and Operations, Media Services and Web Development.
Typical Qualifications
Master’s degree and five years administrative experience in information technology.
Must be proficient in both oral and written communication.
Advanced degrees may be substituted for experience.
Relevant experience or special certifications may be substituted for educational requirements.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ability to be flexible in scheduling work hours including coverage demands due to training periods and equipment problems is required. The ability to work flexible hours and regular attendance at work are essential functions of this position. The ability to travel locally and out of town on college related business and training is required.

Pay: $91,538.00 – $101,583.00 per year
