The University of Melbourne is seeking an exceptional, forward-thinking leader to serve as its Chief Information Officer (CIO) — a rare opportunity to shape the digital transformation of Australia’s top-ranked university.
As CIO, you will be at the helm of innovation, strategy, and enterprise-wide technology leadership across a globally connected institution renowned for academic excellence, research impact, and societal contribution.
Reporting to the Vice President Administration & Finance and Chief Operating Officer, you will be a key member of the COO Executive Team, responsible for aligning technology strategy with the University’s ambitious goals under the Advancing Melbourne 2030 strategy.
You will lead a diverse and high-performing team across seven sub-portfolios, including Enterprise Technology, Research Computing Services, Academic Technology Services, Cyber Security, and Program Implementation. Your leadership will enable a future-ready digital culture, enhance the student and staff experience, and ensure operational excellence and financial sustainability.
This role requires a strategic and influential leader with deep expertise in digital transformation, enterprise systems, and IT governance. You will bring a proven track record of success in complex environments, exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, and a commitment to innovation, equity, and continuous improvement.
