Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Full Time

The WAC is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with proven business acumen and a passion for inspirational leadership. This individual should have a record of operational excellence, having led large teams to measurable, sustainable success. Experience in or interest surrounding athletics and a connection to the Seattle community is preferred.

OVERVIEW

The Chief Executive Officer oversees the operations of the Washington Athletic Club, ensuring its long-term success through business acumen and adherence to the WAC’s values, vision, and mission statement.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides visionary leadership to shape the future of the Washington Athletic Club through oversight of all departments, including but not limited to: The Inn at the WAC, Food & Beverage (retail and banquets), Athletics, Membership, and Operations.
• Collaborates with the Board of Governors and the Executive Committee to innovate and refine the WAC’s offerings.
• Leads and participates in Board of Governors, Executive, and Strategic Planning Committees as CEO, collaborating with the Chairperson and Senior Executive Team to achieve the WAC’s mission, vision, and values.
• Works with the Chairperson to facilitate Member participation in Board Committees, ensuring the WAC’s best interests are represented.
• Supervises finance functions to maintain integrity in accounting, reporting, financial planning, and budgeting.
• Oversees human resources to develop value-driven programs that enhance the quality of life of WAC team members and position the WAC as a competitive employer.
• Inspires and guides WAC teams, achieving results aligned with the WAC’s goals and refining strategies in collaboration with the Board and WAC Leadership Team.
• Stays current on executive leadership, Member interests, people management, and industry practices while adhering to WAC standards.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of ten (10) years of business management experience, preferably in hospitality, athletics, or a community-oriented sector
• A record of operational success through the application of business acumen, particularly financial
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field
• Experience representing organizations at the local, regional, and national level
• Experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies

PAY INFORMATION

• Pay range: $275,000 to $350,000 with a performance bonus range of up to 40% of base salary

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working inside a controlled atmosphere building and must be able to work in cooler and warmer temperatures.
