The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) is the UK’s leading professional body for individuals working in the automotive sector. We are seeking a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to drive our mission forward, shaping the future of automotive careers, influencing policy, and fostering impactful networks. This is a pivotal leadership role for a visionary executive who can inspire change, enhance commercial growth, and ensure IMI remains at the forefront of industry innovation.

About the Role

As CEO, you will:

• Define and execute IMI’s strategic vision, ensuring long-term financial sustainability and growth.
• Lead a high-performing executive team, fostering a collaborative and empowering culture.
• Influence policy and industry standards, advocating for automotive professionals at national and international levels.
• Drive commercial expansion, identifying new revenue streams beyond regulated income.
• Engage with key stakeholders, including government bodies, regulators, and industry leaders.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven leadership experience in the automotive sector, membership association or a related industry.
• Strategic and commercial acumen, with a track record of driving organisational growth.
• Expertise in regulated environments, engaging with policymakers and industry stakeholders.
• Strong governance and financial management skills, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Exceptional communication and advocacy abilities, representing IMI at the highest levels.
